Course Description
A 5 day training course designed primarily for installers and inspectors of on-site sewage systems in Ontario. This course covers Part 8 of the Ontario Building Code and is designed to prepare participants for the On-Site Sewage Systems (Part 8) technical licensing exam administered by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs & Housing (MMAH). The course covers the entire training manual produced by MMAH. In addition, supplementary material developed by the Ontario Rural Wastewater Centre, including additional material on approved alternative technologies, instructional videos, design problems and case studies is also provided. Finally daily access to hands-on demonstrations in our unique training facility is included. Please note the course does NOT include the licensing exam.
In Class – We are excited to offer our very popular OBC Part 8 Sewage Installers Course. It is a 5 day course, which runs daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Cost is $1062.53 ($924.40 + HST). The ORWC supplemental manual, lunch & refreshments are included in this fee. This ORWC course is a preparatory course which reviews the curriculum set out by the Province. We review the 2012 Onsite Sewage System Participant Manual and bring field expertise to the table. Our course caters to participants who prefer the ‘in-class’ experience for learning new material or have limited exposure to construction/calculations associated with septic system projects.

Q: Do I have to pre-register for courses?
A: Yes – However, registration fills up fast and we recommend registering early. We keep a waiting list for available spots in case of unexpected cancellations.
Q: What happens if my schedule changes and I can’t make the course date I picked?
A: Cancellation requires 2 weeks prior notice to the start date based on the date of the confirmation notice. There is an administration charge of $60. Note that there are NO refunds for NO shows.
